US President Donald Trump wants to bring the price of oil down to $50 per barrel in the coming years. Now that the United States is claiming control over Venezuela's oil reserves, Trump hopes to increase production there and thus keep oil prices structurally low. This is according toThe Wall Street Journal, based on information from insiders. The price of oil has been under pressure for some time and currently stands at $60 per barrel. "There is already a lot of oil on the market and demand growth is rather disappointing, particularly in Asia," says Hans van Cleef, energy expert at research firm EqoLibrium.
