Tom van Engers is a professor of legal knowledge management at the University of Amsterdam and an expert at the intersection of law, technology, and digitization. He has been affiliated with the Faculty of Law since 2003, where he focuses on the development and application of ICT in legislation, regulations, and legal processes.

In addition to his academic work, Van Engers has had a long career at the Ministry of Finance and the Tax and Customs Administration, where he serves as a strategic advisor. He combines in-depth knowledge of legal systems with technological innovation and actively contributes to the modernization of legislation and government processes.
