It may be a long time before energy markets return to their previous levels, now that the United States has announced it will suspend attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure for a few days. Although oil prices fell sharply immediately after U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement, the turmoil in the markets is far from over. “The effects are not temporary, but long-lasting,” warns Hans van Cleef, an energy specialist at research firm EqoLibrium.
